Another month, another fashionista lets us into her wardrobe via Vogue! Last month was my favourite yet with the amazing Julia Restoin Roitfeld impressing me every day (she sure loves Miu Miu!). For July, model Coco Rocha takes up the challenge and I for one, am excited at the prospect! She’s young, a model, in fashion, and outspoken – her wardrobe is bound to impress!
Canadian born Coco is only 21 but has been modelling since she was 15. And of course with a name like Rocha she was bound to have some Irish in her, along with Welsh and Russian heritage. She married James Conran, an interior designer just last month. Known for her outspoken views on the pressure young models are put under to be thin, she has said “I’m a 21-year-old model, 6 inches taller and 10 sizes smaller than the average American woman. Yet in another parallel universe I’m considered “fat””.
Coco has fronted campaigns for literally everyone including Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent since she started her career in 2004, and most recently she has been on our TV screens on the new Rimmel ads. She plans to launch her own clothing line, RoCoCo, later this year and says it will be a reflection of what she likes to wear – her signature style is ladylike sophistication.
Coco has her own blog which she updates regularly with behind the scenes videos, music, stories and pics of her and her husband. Check it out here!
Cute fact: During Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall/Winter 2007 show, Rocha opened the show by Irish-dancing down the runway!
I’m looking forward to seeing all her outfits on Vogue. Great outfit.SarahD:)
I meant great post!haha
Haha thanks! I reckon she will have some great outfits up there…
I think I prefer her with red hair. Love that vogue feature although Olivia Palmeros was kind of disappointing.
the third picture, the one below the picture with the blue dress, is not her. That’s Natalia Vodianova.
Oooops, thanks for pointing that out!!! Amended now 🙂
