I say it every year but next year, I’m DEFINITELY going to Coachella!!! By far my favourite of the US based festivals, I love everything about the annual sizzling meet up in April. Looking at the photos always gets me in the mood for my own festival season, and I’m already counting down the days until Sea Sessions at the end of June! …make it polka dots! Confession time ladies, I LOVE polka dots. I have always loved them! I have many items in my wardrobe with those cute little dots on them, from jewellery to underwear to blouses – I just can’t get enough! My thinking is, polka dots aren’t just for Minnie Mouse, they’re for everyone The world may have embraced Breton stripes this year, but I’m hanging on to my ditsy dots…

…make it a blazer! Ah the trusty blazer… Is there any girl left that doesn’t own one? Probably not, because a blazer is one of the most useful, handy and versatile pieces in most girl’s wardrobes! From what I can see in the upcoming seasons trends, a blazer won’t be out of fashion so buy now, wear often I think if I had to choose just one type of cover-up to use for the rest of my life, my battered black blazer would be it. Or maybe my cream one with the shoulders. Or my grey one with the cropped sleeves… Hmm….

…make it a colourful print dress! It must be the weather lately, but I’m looking to inject some colour into my life right now! Summer is supposed to be the one time of year you avoid black but I seem to have kept it as a permanent fixture in my wardrobe the last few months! Well no more, August is going to be my month of wearing bright prints, colourful designs and paintbox blocking! Eva Mendes is my inspiration in this 50′s inspired print dress – how amazing does she look!

The Hills finale: That’s all folks!

MTV’s The Hills final episode aired Tuesday night in the US. After 6 seasons of following the girls, I have to admit I was a tiny bit sorry to see it all end. Even though I wasn’t a huge fan of the past 2 seasons, I still watched it online to see what over the top situation would happen next, and to check out the style. I always loved Lauren’s style and think she’s an expert at knowing what styles suit her. Kristen does laid back chic like no other, and Whitney is the ultimate girly girl in floaty layers and colourful prints. The final episode itself was nothing too special (I won’t ruin it for you lot!), with an ending both clever and unneeded in equal parts, but the wrap party was where it was all happening for me.

If you wear one thing this week… #8

…make it a parka jacket! Or any sort of military style jacket for that matter. Yes the parka is being embraced in a whole new way this year. Normally the sort of item you might spot in the A/W collections, the trusty parka has suddenly become a summer staple (and when living in Ireland this totally makes sense)! A parka will see you from the office to the bar to a festival to a BBQ and home again, and you can bundle it up in the corner when you’re not wearing it – my kind of perfect!

…make it shorts! Yes that age old summer wardrobe item seems to be everywhere this year, so there really is no excuse not to get those pins out in a shorts style that suits you. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of my legs but I still have found one pair of shorts that are ultra flattering and go with everything – the trick is to literally try on every pair and every style until you find yours! We might not all pull it off like Lauren Conrad but we can try
